The Dairy Farmers Creating Greener Pastures Community Grants Program
Dairy Farmers provides a financial helping hand to dairying communities in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia, through our Creating Greener Pastures Community Grants program.
This program sees grants of up to $5,000 awarded to communities through a partnership with the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR).
Examples of the initiatives we currently support include:
- The revegetation of Far North Queensland's major water catchment areas following devastation caused by Cyclone Larry in 2006 (Queensland)
- A four day dairy camp to teach students skills in dairying and showing (Wingham, New South Wales)
- A health and community services expo to help communities affected by the drought (Corangamite and Moyne Shire, Victoria)
- The restoration of a permanent building to house the Darling Downs Dairy Museum (Highfields, Queensland)
- Improving the agricultural education facilities of a local school through the provision of weighing equipment and technology. (Mount Compass, South Australia)
We are currently looking at new opportunities to develop and improve the Dairy Farmers Creating Greener Pastures program for the future.

Young Farmer Support and Development
Dairy Farmers’ Young Farmer program aims to foster business acumen and personal development among the next generation of dairy farmer suppliers.
The program incorporates a two-year course that provides farmers generally between the ages of 18 and 30 with a better understanding of our business processes, as well as offering travel opportunities to Ireland, the United States and the Netherlands.
Food Donations for Australian Charities
Dairy Farmers makes food donations through a partnership with national food charity, Foodbank. Our milk and other dairy products, including custards and yogurts, are supplied to Foodbank warehouses in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Victoria.
Through Foodbank, our products are distributed to accredited welfare agencies throughout Australia for their use in the preparation of meals and food parcels.
