Dairy Farmers Milk Co-operative Secures Increased Milk Price for Northern Region

01.08.2005

Dairy Farmers Milk Co-operative (DFMC) today announced that it had reached agreement with Australian Co-operative Foods (Dairy Farmers) on a 1 cent per litre milk price increase for suppliers in South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales (Northern Region).

DFMC Chairman Ian Zandstra said: “I’m pleased to announce an increase of one cent per reference litre for the price ACF pays our Members in the Northern Region for their milk.”

“As part of the negotiation process, the DFMC has also requested that the Maximum Volume under the defined volume contracts for all suppliers be increased from 110 per cent to 120 per cent.

“ACF has agreed to this change, which, in turn, provides more flexibility for our Members.

“Farmer suppliers who have already signed contracts will be advised of this improvement by letter. They will also be able to change their Defined Volumes so as to take advantage of the new Maximum Volumes. However, these changes will need to be made by the 6 September 2005.
