Grant is just one of a growing number of Australians who are singing the praises of Immune Plus – a new natural health supplement that has as its active ingredient a protein extracted from Dairy Farmers cows’ milk.
Immune Plus – launched this month by Probiotec Pharma – uses as its active ingredient a protein known as lactoferrin, which, in turn, gives the human body’s immune system a healthy boost.
Lactoferrin is extracted from local cows’ milk at Dairy Farmers’ Malanda facility in Far North Queensland by Australian Dairy Proteins – a joint venture between Dairy Farmers and Probiotec Pharma. The bioactive protein is then purified and freeze dried to maintain its maximum activity and purity.
Dairy Farmers Chief Executive Rob Gordon said the joint venture between the Co-operative and Probiotec Pharma to produce Immune Plus represented an exciting new opportunity for the dairy industry.
“Without doubt, the release of Immune Plus into Australian pharmacies is a very exciting development for both our companies,” Mr Gordon said.
“While it’s still early days, it’s also an exciting time for Dairy Farmers’ farmer shareholders who regularly supply the Co-operative with high quality milk.
“We then use this milk to produce some of Australia’s best loved brands – including Dairy Farmers white milk, Coon and Ski – as well as extracting lactoferrin for use in Immune Plus through our partnership with Probiotec Pharma.”
And what does Grant Hackett think about Immune Plus?
“Whether I’m training or racing, I always strive to improve my performance – to reach new goals,” he said.
“Now that I’m taking Immune Plus to supplement my body’s immune system, my focus is where it really matters – in the pool and swimming all those laps.
“Immune Plus has been great for me and now it’s available for all Australians”.
