Dairy Farmers Re-aligns Its Farm Services Network to Increase On-farm Presence

19.09.2005

Dairy Farmers has realigned its farm services offering to boost its already strong on-farm presence. This includes the appointment of two managers to oversee services the Co-operative provides to farmer suppliers.

Greg Gilbert takes on the role of Farm Services Manager, South responsible for Riverina, Victoria and South Australia while new addition to Dairy Farmers, Fionnuala Malone-McGrath takes on responsibility for New South Wales and South East Queensland. The Farm Services network in Far North Queensland remains unchanged.

Dairy Farmers already has a strong on-farm presence through its farm services offering, where a team of sixteen assist farmer suppliers with business advice, training and other educational courses to maximise the performance of their dairy farms.

Both Mr Gilbert and Ms Malone-McGrath will also continue to foster closer ties with industry partners including Dairy Australia, Department of Primary Industries and the Dairy Industry Development Group.

Mr Gilbert has been with Dairy Farmers for approximately twelve years and prior to his new appointment, held the role of Farm Services Manager, South Australia.

Ms Malone-McGrath was previously with Weston Animal Nutrition working first on farm as a dairy nutritionist in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania, and then as a sales manager.

Ms Malone-McGrath has a strong dairy farming background having grown up on a dairy and beef farm. She is originally from Ireland and has a Masters in Ruminant Nutrition from University College Dublin, and a MBA from Sydney Graduate School.
