Storage tips

At the supermarket:

Always check the ‘best before’ date.
When shopping in the supermarket, collect Dairy Essentials and other cold items last and keep them together in your trolley, away from any hot foods.
The packer should put cold and frozen items together — they will help each other keep cold.
If you live a distance from the supermarket (more than half an hour away) pack Dairy Essentials and other cold items together in an insulated container. If you shop by car, it is an idea to leave a small Esky in the boot.

At home:

Put Dairy Essentials into the fridge as soon as you get home.
Store at 4 degrees Celsius or less.
Don’t store on the inside door of your fridge. The temperature on the inside of the door can be several degrees warmer than the interior of your fridge.
Store away from strong smelling foods as Dairy Essentials can absorb other flavours.
Always store upright to prevent leakage.
It is not recommended to use Dairy Essentials if past the ‘best before’ date.

The best way to whip cream

The best way to whip cream

Use chilled Dairy Farmers Thickened Cream and, if it is a hot day, chill the bowl and the beaters, too. Make sure the bowl and beaters are clean and completely dry. Start beating on a low speed, increasing the speed slightly as the cream thickens. Do not beat on a high speed, as it will be difficult to judge when the cream is at the required thickness and you may risk over beating.
